Pee Wee Competition - A Fun Learning Experience!

The Pee Wee Competition is a special pre-Junior Showmanship event, designed for children aged 5 to under 9 years. This experience introduces young participants to showmanship with a focus on fun and learning, rather than competition.
Pee Wee Class Guidelines:
- Each unit includes the child, an adult (parent/guardian/responsible adult), and a dog.
- Dogs do not need to be AKC registered, but must be at least 4 months old.
- Important:Bitches in season cannot participate, but eligible dogs can be substituted if needed.
- All dogs must be on proper leads and collars.
- An adult must accompany the child inside and outside the ring, and is responsible for handling the dog outside the ring.
Participation Notes:
- Breeds Eligible:All AKC recognized and Miscellaneous Class breeds are welcome, as well as PAL-listed dogs.
- A signed release form by the child’s parent or guardian is required. Forms will be available at the event.
Focus on Safety and Learning: The goal of this class is to offer a safe, enjoyable introduction to the dog show world:
- The adult may help with table breeds if needed, and additional lead assistance may be used for larger dogs.
- There is no official judging—children will be mentored with age-appropriate guidance on showmanship, preparing them for Junior Showmanship once they are 9 years old.
Each participant will receive a commemorative participation rosette as a keepsake from the event.
